Hello! I'm James. I'm roughly an 8-year-old Bichon that loves a good nap on the hardwood floors followed up with a nap in my dog bed. I LOVE to nap. It's no fault of my own, tho. I have a few health problems that keep me from being the outgoing dog my foster parents swear I used to be.
A little about me! I was recently treated for heartworms and have chronic renal disease (I’ll need to be on renal food for the rest of my life) but that doesn’t stop me from being arguably the BEST cuddle buddy you’ve ever met! I need help getting outside and cannot climb the stairs very well. They are SO tall and scare me sometimes. So, my foster parents get to carry me to my dog bed upstairs and to the yard. My foster parents have learned that I need to sleep in the same room as you or I get scared at night. I don't love my crate but I can be put in it if needed.
I love being outside and would prefer a home with a fenced-in yard. I am not quick but I like to explore and sunbathe. I also love walks but my foster mom says they are more of a stroll for her because I like to smell every spot on the grass. I need to be walked on a harness only.
I have to be fed a special diet and have to take medicine every other day. I also need access to fresh water all day. I get REALLY thirsty after my naps. I love car rides with my foster sister, Willow. She tries to play with me, but I'm more chill than that.
That's a lot about me now what I ask of you:
Ideally, a fenced-in yard NOT on a hill
Someone big and strong to carry me around (roughly 20 pounds)
Someone that is home more often than not
A single-story home OR home with master on main
Someone to keep up my special diet and medicine routine
I cannot wait to meet and snuggle you!
