Sriracha is looking for a special person to give her a forever family! She and her newborn puppy were rescued along with 30+ other dogs from terrible conditions - outdoor wire pens, rock hard clay as a bed (that’s why her paws are still that color 😔), and minimal human contact. She has been a great mom to both her little one and two more puppies we brought in to be his surrogate siblings!
It has taken her weeks to feel the touch of a human hand without shrinking away, but she has grown to trust and love her foster family and seeks affection - on her terms! She loves other dogs (of all sizes) and her foster’s family dogs have been instrumental in showing her how to relate to humans, so a household with at least one other good “example dog” is a must.
She is house trained and loves the outdoors, is good when she is on a leash but still has a lot of fear regarding being touched around the neck/chest so fastening the leash can be traumatic for her. This is why she is looking for a fenced yard to play in.
She is non-destructive and well mannered so she does not need a crate. What she does need is patience, and a family willing to continue to show her what it is like to be loved! She has made tremendous progress in her foster home and her spunky, playful personality continues to emerge. She is great with kids of all ages and is not fearful of humans - will happily greet and sniff everyone - but only wants to be touched by people she trusts, can you blame her?
