Esme is a sweet young dachshund mix female who weighs 25 lb and is approximately 1 year old. She is relatively low shed but not “hypoallergenic”. This pretty girl was rescued the day after she gave birth to 2 puppies (Elsa and Anna) on a county shelter floor and has done a remarkable job as a young momma dog of raising these sweet young puppies. While she has been in foster care she has proven herself to be a charming houseguest. She is housebroken and will go to the door when she needs to go out. She is a little low rider with soulful brown eyes and an infectious smile. She is an awesome couch snuggler and loves laying across her human for belly rubs and head scratches. Outdoors she is a happy dog. She literally bounces across her foster mom’s backyard chasing birds or balls. She loves to chew on nylabones and antlers and her forever home will need an assortment of same! She has been “home schooled” while weaning her puppies and knows sit, down and stay and is making progress on walking on the leash (please bear in mind she is part dachshund). She has been sweet with other dogs her size. She has done well with older children and is expected to be fine with younger kids as well. (Cats are an unknown at this time, as her foster parents are highly allergic.) Apply today to meet her she will be ready to go to her forever home after March 23rd.
