Meet PORTER, a 7 month old male "lab-aussie shep-hound mix?" neutered puppy! Appropriately named “Porter” he is a tall, dark glass of deliciousness, full of heart and sass. He’s not a wimpy lager and he’s not as heavy as a stout…He’s a really handsome dog! He has beautiful soft rich brown fur with just a hint of white tips on his paws and a golden sheen to his ears. He is about 31 lb now and anticipated to be around 45 lb as an adult. He is doing well with housebreaking and is learning basic obedience commands but is still a puppy and has some catching up to do. He is treat motivated and loves loves loves to chase and fetch tennis balls. He will bring them back over and over so you can throw them again. He plays well with other dogs and would do very well with ongoing socialization either at a dog park with other balanced dogs or in doggy daycare. He would be an awesome running or walking companion. He would be a great playful, snuggly companion for an older child. He does not like to be alone for too too long, so if his adopters have to be away for long stretches, he may do better with another 4 footed companion in the house. He sleeps in a crate currently while perfecting potty training but once past the puppy chewing phase would be expected to be just fine uncrated. He may do ok with cats since he is gentle, but that would have to be tested.
