Betty White is perfect with all living beings - dogs, cats, kids, and even pigs (seriously, she loves pigs)! She’s gentle & sweet and completely housebroken. She’s obsessed with squeaky toys and acts just like a puppy when she sees one (she’s 11 years young). Everyone at the kill shelter and at the vet’s office RAVED about her, and I see why.
Betty does have a few old lady issues going on, but the good news is the meds aren't expensive! She has hip dysplasia with degenerative joint disease, spondylosis in her neck and mid-back, and some calcified discs in her spine. She will need to be on joint support, anti-inflammatories, and nerve pain medication for the rest of her life.
Even though Betty walks funny and moves kinda slow, she gets around just the same! She’d do best in a house with limited or no stairs, as she can’t climb an entire flight (but a few here and there are ok). Betty just needs a chill house to live out the rest of her days.
Betty’s past is anyone’s guess but she was last microchipped to a woman named Bertha in 2008. Given the fact that she is spayed, heartworm negative, and housebroken, we suspect she was cared for at one point and most likely Bertha passed away and Betty ended up in bad hands from there. When she came to animal control she had a chain around her neck which could have caused or contributed to all these issues. Poor Betty spent a month at a kill shelter but it is all good things for her from here on out!!
