Blanche (BONDED WITH DOROTHY)

Dorothy & Blanche had a very RUFF start to life - they were abandoned on a dirt road in a very rural part of Georgia, filthy, emaciated, and full of parasites. They had been bred over & over and, as a result, had dozens of huge mammary tumors, some larger than golf balls. They ended up at animal control (where they tested positive for heartworms), and that’s where Releash Atlanta stepped in.

 

Fast forward four months, Dorothy & Blanche have undergone invasive heartworm treatment and, once recovered from that, have had an additional two surgeries EACH to remove all the tumors, get spayed, and have dentals done. They are FINALLY healthy and ready for their FURever home!!

 

Dorothy and Blanche are VERY bonded and must be adopted together. Both are timid but Blanche is a little more outgoing than Dorothy. They are sweet, quiet, and housebroken (will use pee pads if needed). They are happy and wag their tails constantly, and they are highly food-motivated. They are not too active and spend most of their time in their bed together, mainly moving only to eat or go out (or to greet you when you get home).

 

These ladies are great with ALL size dogs and with cats, as well. Their foster mom has a four-year-old girl and, while they’re absolutely perfect with her, loud noises or things dropping on the ground do scare them, so a home with several young kids would probably not be ideal.

 

Whether Dorothy & Blanche have one year left or five years left, they’re mainly looking for a quiet home where they’ll be spoiled & loved on and made to forget their horrible past. They deserve that and so much more!!
