Hi! I‘m Cheddar. I’m 2 years old and weigh 15 pounds. I’m looking for someone who will love me and take care of me forever. Is that you?
I was recently rescued from living in a landfill. Being smart and resourceful, I survived by finding food within the garbage piles. Some friendly humans took me to a veterinarian where I received medical care and was cleaned up to be the cute little guy you see here today.
My fosters think I’m a Chiweenie, but if not, I’m definitely some sort of dachshund mix. They say I am so sweet and gentle and such a happy dog for what I went through. I love to eat, snuggle and lay in your lap. I also get super excited when I see a leash because I know that means we’re going for a walk!
A few more things to know about me: I’m a little guy and I love to be near my person, so please don’t leave me alone for long periods of time. I might cry. I am house trained and will give you cues when I need to go outside. If you ask me to sit, I will usually do so. I like all kinds of people—young, old, male, female, kids. I like other dogs too, especially if they want to play with me! I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of dog!
One important bit of information: I have been treated for heartworms and must be on restricted activity until August 9. So no long walks or vigorous play until then.
