Hi! I’m Cathy and I like men. If your household doesn’t have a man in it, that isn’t a deal breaker because I love all people. But if there is a man in the house, he has to be 100% on board with having me as his new BFF. I’m very happy, smart, playful, and fairly easy-going once I get comfortable in a new situation, but keep reading.

 

I came to Releash with lots of medical issues due to neglect. They thought I might be a hairless dog - it was that bad. My ears, skin, and feet are all healthy now, but I will still need medicated baths once a week, at least for a while. Some of my issues were most likely caused by untreated allergies. Right now I get an allergy injection every 6 weeks, but your vet may want to shift me to a daily pill, or do an allergy work-up to figure out what food isn’t nice to me. My foster mom has promised me that my feet will never ever be so painful again, so regular grooming with nail clipping is essential care for me.

 

I am a terrier mixed with a terrier maybe mixed with another type of terrier, so that means I have a very strong instinct to keep the vermin at bay. I’d be very happy if you have a fenced backyard where I can run free while keeping the squirrels up the trees and the chipmunks under the ground. I also love patrolling the neighborhood, so walks are a must too. Once inside I will capture and kill every stuffed toy I own. I love to play, and I like it best when you play with me, but I

know the difference between rough play with my toys and gentle mouth playing with humans. So far I have been fine meeting kids, but I get a little snappy if my back end or back legs get touched or I think they will get touched. That may work itself out as I get more confident that they won’t hurt anymore, but just in case it doesn't, no kids under 6 please. I think I might adore having another little dog to play with because I’m very interested in all the dogs in my foster neighborhood and I don’t like being alone. I chase every cat I see, so I probably shouldn’t live with one. I sleep through the night, am completely house trained, love car rides, and I don’t shed - but because I am a mix of terrier breeds, I may not be hypoallergenic.
