Requirements: Fenced yard
Bonus Points: Someone with Great Pyrenees experience
If you’re looking for a sensitive guardian that’s also a giant goofball, Hank may be your perfect match.
Hank was surrendered when his previous owner couldn’t care for him, so he’s had a confusing start to life, but now this almost one-year-old guy has been given a second chance to find his forever home. Hank is a Great Pyrenees with a classic Pyr personality and looks - he’s big, beautiful, smart, intuitive, playful, loving and a little stubborn. He’s going to need an owner with time and space for light exercise and to work with him on some basic training (he is already potty trained).
He’d prefer a yard with a fence, as he loves to be outside and lay in the grass while he keeps a watchful eye on the place. If introduced in a proper way, he should have no problem getting along with other non-aggressive dogs. He absolutely loves kids and has no shame about flopping over when they come near him so they can rub his belly. He barks if he hears or sees a perceived threat, so apartment life won’t suit him.
Hank has mild dysplasia in one elbow and could have issues with his rear joints later in life. Neither issue needs current treatment, but his potential owner should know this is a possibility as he ages. Hank is a gorgeous boy (with a cowlick and speckles on his face!) that will bring a warm, calming, funny presence to his perfect home.
