Birdie

 

Ok, so if you are reading this, you’re probably looking at my picture and wondering, “How does a beautiful girl like that end up in a place like this”? I’ve been wondering the same thing! My name is Birdie! They say that I am 4 years old.

 

I was born in Turkey, yep that’s right, Turkey! I’m a long way from home! I don’t understand English but I keep hearing the same words from people that see me for the first time. Ooh and Aah! I think that means that they think I’m pretty but they don’t really know the real me! If you want to be my forever family, there are some things you need to understand.

 

They call me Birdie because I’m an English Setter, a bird hunting breed.Dogs like me like to run and explore a lot more than other breeds. I require a large fenced yard so that I can be happy! Not having room to run a explore is a deal breaker for me. I just won’t be happy if I can’t get my exercise. Later on, when we know each other better, I hope we can take long nature hikes together, but for right now I need a leash or a fence so that I don’t get lost.

 

I love America! So far my favorite things are, air conditioning, the leather sofa, the big screen TV, snuggles on the sofa with anyone that wants snuggles, toys, and chew bones. This is my first time ever to live in a house but somehow I understand to go outside to do my potty. My foster mom is really happy about that!

 

I am living with cats and get along very well with all of them. 

 

I’m getting really excited to find my forever home and to start enjoying the best years of my life here in America!
