Hi there! I’m Mimi, and I am so much better than I was in November when Releash saved me. I was in bad shape from neglect - lots of hair loss, itchy skin, and ears so infected no matter how hard they tried they couldn’t get them to heal. So Releash gave me TECA surgery on both of my ears. Now I can’t hear, but I also am not in pain. My eyes and nose are in great shape, so I don’t even know I’m deaf.

Someone loved me once because I walk great on a leash, adore car rides, know how to walk next to the cart at the garden supply store, behave myself at picnics with lots of people around, and am super cute when I play with my toys. I love my toys - almost as much as I love food and my people. I love my people so much that I need all of their love and absolutely will not share them with another dog. Dogs are fine on neutral territory - I’ve even been to doggie day care, but I need to be the only canine in my home.

I know they say I’m 10 - 12 years old, but I sure don’t act like it. The squirrels know I am still young and quick enough to keep them up in the trees, and my toys know I’m the boss too. I’m super affectionate, will follow my humans around all day, and I sleep through the night on my own bed next to my foster mom’s bed. I do have to take medicine for a couple of conditions that I have, but you just put my meds in my bowl with food and I eat them right up. Easy!

I have pills for a heart murmur that I need to take twice a day, along with some supplements that help me recover from all the neglect I’ve been through and keep my joints in good shape. I also take a pill to…well…Um…I AM COMPLETELY HOUSE TRAINED!! I know to do my business outside and will even tell you when I need to go out, but… well…gosh darn it, aging isn't for sissies.… I have what they call old dog incontinence, but only a little bit and only when I fall into deep sleep!! The medicine works great, and my bed is completely dry now (and it was never that much, just little spots), but I will have to take that pill in my dinner every night from here on out.

What else? I don’t shed! Like all Yorkie types I will need to go to the groomer. If you want to bathe me at home, I’m good with that. I’ve had so many medicated baths over the last few months that I know how to behave. I lift my leg to help you get to my underside and don’t try to jump out of the bath or anything crazy like that. I just stand there until you pick me up to dry me off. Then I get to be crazy wet dog running around the house which is loads of fun for me.

So, if you need a super sweet, playful senior girl in your life, one who will love you the most, who needs some extra care but makes that care super easy to give, I would be thrilled to meet you.
