Someone home often

Hi, I am Milo! I am an almost 3-month young ball of fluff called an Aussiedoodle (or so we’re told). I was born without a mean bone in my body, and LOVE everyone I meet including my 3 foster dog brothers and sister. I do tend to invade their personal space and I am learning boundaries.

So far, I haven’t met anyone that I don’t want to get kiss and snuggle with! I am a super friendly little guy and love to play until I wear myself out. Currently, I weigh about 17 pounds, but they say I may be a big boy. I can be a little on the clumsy side, but I just learned to climb up stairs! I am a little scared to go back down the stairs, but I will overcome that fear soon!

I am on a strict sleep routine, and my foster family says I am doing great. Before bedtime, my foster momma takes me out for my last potty of the day. She brings me in and turns on something called white noise. We cuddle and I get lots of ear rubs and kisses and go into the crate next to their bed. (While in my crate, I like my people to be within eyesight or I may cry.) But, once everyone is settled and the lights go off, I wind down and sleep the whole night. I have not had ANY accidents in my crate since living with my foster family, although I will need someone patient and gentle to be home and work with me on potty training during the day. I have to potty often and have had many accidents as I am very young and still learning.

A few other things my new family needs to know about me: I am still a puppy so I can be a little rambunctious and need someone willing to put in time and effort with obedience training. I have puppy teeth (and amazing puppy breath, IYKYK) and like to chew. If I don’t have a chew toy, then I MAY try to chew on other things that I am not supposed to. My foster family watches me very closely and makes sure the house is picked up, so I am not tempted to chew on things that I am not supposed to.

I have a thick coat and can shed, but fomma says if my new person keeps me brushed, it will prevent excessive shedding and painful matts. I got groomed by fomma and did not like the grooming table or clippers at all. I did get through most of it and enjoyed the bath part! It may be that I have never been exposed to grooming or had a bad experience. Either way, I will need to be groomed by someone loving, patient and willing to work with me until I can overcome my fear.

I am still learning to walk on a leash and will need a fenced yard. I could be a single pet under the right circumstances, but I would do well in my forever home with another playful dog a bit older than me that I could learn from and play with.

If you are patient, gentle and willing to put in the time and effort to work with this sweet little boy, he most definitely will steal your heart and make an amazing lifelong companion.
