Gus

This is Gus! Gus, a squishy lab/sharpei mix, is a noble, housebroken gentleman who absolutely adores people (especially kids), all dogs, and dog-savvy cats (so, no runners). Gus was given up by his first human, but he hasn’t let that hold him back! He is absolutely FULL of love and joy! His favorite place to be is curled up next to his humans, but he knows when it’s time to go on walks, and will run around with excitement! He is also a great source of comedic relief-he likes falling asleep on the sofa, but tends to roll off onto the floor! It doesn’t seem to phase him much, as this is a regular occurrence. Gus was born with hip dysplasia and came into the rescue not knowing that living in pain wasn’t normal. Thankfully, he had one hip surgery and is doing great. Gus will need a family that continues his physical therapy by making sure he gets plenty of exercise, and can support him when he may have to have his other hip done in 1-2 years. Gus would do best with a family who either has someone home during most of the day, or another dog to play with (ideally, both!). He doesn’t love being all alone for long periods of time-he just loves his people too much! There isn’t anyone who has met him that hasn’t fallen in love with him. He’s simply an amazing dog!

Requirements:

- Fenced in yard

- Someone home during at least most of the day OR another friendly dog to play with - ideally, both

- Someone who will continue his physical therapy and is able to support him through a possible second hip surgery in 1-2 years 

- Takes advantage of free dog-sitting offer by Gus’s foster family, who absolutely adores him!
